First you have to get the fuel to the power plant, then you have to shield everyone from the radiation.

The real kicker is that you are left with enormous quantities of spent fuel rods that have to be stored and kept cool, to prevent them melting the containers for the next few thousand years!

 Definitely something you would not want to try at home.

Hydro Electricity –though thought of as one of the major commercial green energy sources in some circles, and whilst it does not have the obvious drawbacks of the previous systems.

It does have an effect on the environment by flooding vast areas of land to make the manmade lakes necessary to get the volume of water needed, and it adversely affects the ecological balance in the water itself.

Wind Power – possibly the only practical commercial green energy source, though even the wind farms have drawbacks due to the hugh size of the wind generators, and the number of them required to make a useful contribution.
